The characteristic beak design first adopted by Suzuki stays true to its heritage while being more aggressive and bolder for the new generation V-STROM. The V-STROM’s 1037cc, 90-degree V-twin engine has more peak power than ever before while maintaining its strong pull off the bottom and superb fuel economy while complying with emissions standards worldwide. New camshafts and pistons are fed by a pair of large, 49mm, Ride-by-Wire electronic throttle bodies that deliver smooth, light, and precise throttle grip action. An updated Traction Control System*, now with four modes of adjustment, is joined by a new Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) that lets the rider choose from three different engine power delivery characteristics. Regardless of weather conditions, the Suzuki Easy Start System fires the V-STROM’s engine up with just a momentary press of the starter button. Suzuki’s Low RPM Assist system returns, making it easier for a V-STROM rider to avoid stalling the engine when pulling away from a stop or maneuvering through heavy traffic. The V-STROM’s durable, twin-spar aluminum frame balances weight and rigidity for optimal handling on all types of roads. The cast aluminum swingarm is controlled by a single rear shock with remote, hydraulic spring preload adjustment so adjusting for cargo or a passenger takes just seconds. Upfront, the inverted KYB fork has spring preload adjustment plus both compression and rebound damping force adjustment for easy tuning. In popular 19- and 17-inch sizes, Bridgestone Battlax Adventure A41 tires are fitted to the V-STROM’s 10-spoke, cast-aluminum wheels. Like every V-STROM before it, the style, performance, and value of the V-STROM will be instantly recognized by experienced and enthusiastic riders. No other bike in its class delivers trouble-free adventure like the V-STROM. |

MULTI-FUNCTION INSTRUMENT CLUSTER The instrument panel presents all required information on a full LCD screen using a clean and intuitive layout with information displayed in order of priority. SUSPENSION Movement of the cast aluminum swingarm is controlled by a single rear shock with remote, hydraulic spring preload adjustment so adjusting for cargo or a passenger takes just seconds. The single-shock, link-style rear suspension also features rebound-damping force adjustment. |
THE REFINED V-TWIN ENGINE The liquid-cooled, DOHC, 1037cm3 90° V-twin engine further evolved. It meets new Euro 5 emission control standards while achieving high power of 79.0kW / 8,500rpm while maintaining low fuel consumption (4.9L / 100km). Also, a 35kW version has been added for the European Driving License Directive. The engine delivers deep rumble in the low rpm range, strong and linear torque in the mid-range and a maximum horsepower in the high rpm range with a smooth run up. This refined engine will support the rider to enjoy various situations such as city and rural roads, winding passes, flat dirt roads and highways. SUZUKI CLUTCH ASSIST SYSTEM (SCAS) The Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) works as an assist clutch to make the lever easier to pull while transmitting the power output, reducing fatigue on long touring. |
ELECTRONICAL THROTTLE BODY Now, ride-by-wire throttle system is simpler, lighter and more compact than the previous model, with a larger bore (49mm compared to 45mm of the previous model). The throttle body is independently installed to both the front and rear cylinder. Each throttle body has a single butterfly valve, allowing each to be opened and closed using its own independent motor for precise control. |
DUAL SPARK TECHNOLOGY Each cylinder head is equipped with two iridium spark plugs. The ignition timing is controlled independently contributing to high combustion efficiency, higher power output, a more linear throttle response, easier engine startup and a more stable idle. |
LIQUID-COOLED OIL COOLER Uses a new liquid-cooled oil cooler. Located where the oil filter is attached, it takes up less space and is both lightweight and compact. The liquid-cooled oil cooler provides flawless lubrication for a more powerful engine. |
